410 Good Norwegian cabin tradition with Finnish Sisu. Barrel sauna, hot tub, rowboat. Kilefjorden.

Cozy cottage with barrel sauna, wood-fired hot tub and rowboat right by Hodnekilen (Otra-elva) Great for outdoorsy families. The beach in front of the cottage is shallow.

The rowboat by the cabin can borrow free of charge. Bring your own life jackets.

The cottage is cozy and has 1 bedroom with double bed and 1 bedroom with family bunk bed and small sofa bed. A total of 4-6 beds. Kitchen is equipped with most things you need for domestic use. Stove and small refrigerator work with gas. The heat source for the cabin is wood stove and it is in the living room. The sofa in the living room can easily make into an extra double bed. The cabin does not have electricity, but the solar cell system gives you power for light and you can also charge your mobile phone or tablet. Charging works with regular phone charging cable, bring your own. Lovely sunny terrace in front of the cottage that gives you nice views of the Hodnekilen. The cabin is located approx. 6 meters from the water and has a sunny location.  

The barrel sauna and hot tub work with firewood and are very relaxing and give a good spa feeling.

Sauna has a water tank that fills with water and gets hot when you fire up the sauna stove, so it is easy to get washed after sauna. Mix called and warm water and pour over you. The utility water is taken from the wedge.  

Sauna does not cost anything extra, but you have to buy firewood.

Hot tub: You need to fill up water with water pump from Kilen and fire up the tub yourself. It takes approx. 1-1.5 hours to fill up the tub and approx. 5-6 hours to get the tub warm and approx. 5-6 sacks of firewood. In winter, more time and more wood passes. Stamp costs NOK 500 per heating this summer, NOK 600. in autumn and 800 kr in winter and you get 5 sacks of firewood in summer / autumn 6 sack / winter 8 sack.

In winter, it takes longer to fill up and warm up approx. 8 hours and 8 sacks of firewood.

If you want to buy more firewood, it costs 100 kr. /sack.

-It is not possible to bring your own firewood.

All firewood must be purchased from the cottage.

-A weekend in the winter with tub and sauna uses approx. 9 sacks of firewood. 1 bag included on the price.  

-If you want us to fill up the tub in advance and take a starting fire, it costs NOK 1000. in addition. In winter time ( 1.12- 15.4) we must have a weather reservation. Depends on how called it is. below -7 C is ok.

The cabin is rented out to religious people, families who are used to such nature / forest cabins. Families and 1-2 quiet, adult couples. Not youngsters. Dogs are not allowed in this cabin, Neighboring cabin 412 dog is allowed.

The owner has 2 cabins in the same area. About 100 m. Apart. A separate barrel sauna has been built on both cabins. Sandy beach and piers are used jointly between the cabins. Those from other cabins are allowed to go to the pier and swim on the beach

-To get to the cabin you can choose whether you want to take a rowboat over Hodnekilen (takes approx. 4 minutes to row over) or if you want to walk via the forest path approx. 250-300 m. In winter you have to walk. It is about 8 km. to Evje, here you will find shops, eateries etc. Mineralparķ, gogart, rafting, climbing forest is something we want to name. Take a trip to Kilefjord camping approx.1.5 km from The cabin, here you can sell fishing licenses, fishing equipment, ice cream, fast food, etc.   To Kristiansand Zoo it is about 700 km
Note!

-There may be some traffic noise of the road going in the other side of the water. If you can overlook it then it's nice to be otherwise.

-Sandy beach and piers are used by both cabins.    boat can be used only in summer time about 15.4-15.11 Otherwise, it is about 250 m. to walk to the cabin.

-Not dog/cat due to allergies -Water height on the river varies -Bring bed linen, towels, drinking water and any life jackets.

Note: In the period 25 June - 6 August 2023 it is only possible to book for 1 - 2 - 3 weeks. Friday-Friday or Sunday-Sunday exchange. Everyone must clean the cabin properly after use. NB. Cleaning can be ordered, contact us directly on +47 950 47 679
